About the album

Time slipping away, procrastination, nostalgia, resistance to the now, glimpses of the future, and the acceptance of mortality — these are the emotional and conceptual undercurrents that shape Borrowed Time, the new album by Dutch electronica artist Endorphins.

Through oddly timed rhythms, bent melodies, fractured breakbeats, and immersive ambient passages, Thomas Heijmans crafts a soundscape that meditates on the elasticity of time and the tension between chaos and stillness.

Borrowed Time is both a reflection and a release — a journey that resists linearity and embraces impermanence.

endorphins

endorphins is the pseudonym of Thomas Heijmans hailing from Utrecht, the Netherlands. He has been producing electronic music under this moniker since the mid nineties. With a love for both ancient electronica pioneers and modern sounds combined with a cinematic sensibility, the sound of endorphins can best be described as having a clear melodic and at times visual quality with experimental undertones. Aside from endorphins he has released music in the past as part of the award winning (Grote prijs van Nederland) Quick & Brite and the electronica-metal L'Enfer. As Beyond Reason he has worked as a veejay, hosted found footage movie nights, produced video mixtapes and produced several music videos.  Music by endorphins has been featured in several art projects and installations.
